WHAT FORM OF QIGONG WILL WE BE PRACTICING?
There are many forms of Qigong, and all have merit; however, the type of Qigong that I practice is Spring Forest Qigong, created by Grand Master Chunyi Lin. Spring Forest Qigong is a form of energy healing which aids in healing the body, mind, emotions and spirit. It’s an easy, simple, effective and efficient practice that can be done by anyone anywhere.
HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE?
The beauty of this practice is that it is slow and easy. It doesn’t require much flexibility. There is no twisting, stretching or awkward moments. All of the moments can be adapted to your flexibility and range of movement. This practice is excellent for seniors. I have several years of experience working with seniors. I will ensure your needs will be met.
WHAT IS QIGONG?
Qigong is an ancient practice used to enhance health and well-being. “Qi” means energy or life force and “Gong” means practice or using. The different aspects of the practice aid in unblocking energy, thus opening your energy channels, which in turn restore the flow of energy throughout the body.
I AM NOT GOOD AT MEDITATING. MY MIND IS TOO BUSY! CAN I STILL JOIN THE GROUP?
Of course, you can! Qigong is a moving meditation. You will focus your attention on the movements, which is a form of mediation. The seated meditations are guided and not about chasing way thoughts. It’s about feeling your body, following your breath, and stilling the mind. Stilling the mind means letting the ideas flow through while your focus is on your body. With a little practice, it is doable.
WHAT IF I HAVE PHYSICAL CHALLENGES, CAN I STILL DO QIGONG?
Yes, you can. Qigong can be done standing, sitting or lying down. It can also be adapted to any physical issues you may have. It is adaptable and flexible. If you let me know your challenges when you sign up, I will suggest an adaptation specifically designed for you.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR, AND WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Wear comfortable clothes. You can have some water handy and a straight back chair for the meditations or if you need to sit during the practice.
WHAT DAY, TIME AND LENGTH ARE THE LIVE SESSIONS?
The live sessions will be on Wednesdays at 2 pm Mountain Standard Time and last approximately 1 hour.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE THE LIVE SESSIONS?
The replay will be posted within 24 hours (unless there are technical difficulties).
